ACTUSAFE® - the fail-safe electric actuator for the highest
demands
Disaster such as week-long fires in oil and
gas fields leaks in pipelines, or burst and burning gas pipes
following an earthquake, can cause an unimaginable amount of
ecological damage. This can be entirely prevented by ACTUSAFE®.
Dangerous and turbulent system conditions are
returned to a safe status. Mechanical every
storage
guarantees the attainment of a defined safety
position in every situation, even in the case of a failure
in the electricity supply. The actuating command is then either
provided by a superordinated monitoring system, external sensor,
or the actuator itself.

Fail-safe
The behaviour of single or groups of units can be described as being
fail-safe, when even during an interruption to the every supply, the
general safety of the entire plant is assured. This fail-safe behaviour
relates to one or several predetermined faults.
- In a fault situation, ACTUSAFE® switches to a safe position.
- ACTUSAFE® provides twice the performance of conventional
electric actuators.
In addition to the normal actuation procedure, the energy store is
charged. This ensures that in all cases, including a failure of the
electricity supply, the defined safety position will be achieved.
The demands o fail-safe actuators derive from individual applications.
The optimum fulfilment of customer requirements is therefore only
possible by means of a solution tailor-made to meet specific situations.
The modular system contained in the basic design principles of ACTUSAFE®
is based on long-term experience and extensive functional safety analyses.
The utilised quality assurance system is certified according to DIN
